I really love Adrienne's course! It is well organized and clear. She divided the materials into digestible chunks that make the content easy to understand. Each of the module has a video, content, and additional resources. I spent quite a bit of time on the exercises, thinking about my practice. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in learning the basics of tarot, but also those who would like to make their practice more intuitive and connected to one self! - Julie

Hi there, I'm Adrienne Amari.

I first learned about tarot back in grade six when my dad told me I should learn it so I could tell all my classmates their fortunes. And while I didn't pick tarot up at that time (the Devil card scared me, saw the Exorcist far too young), I came back to it when I was ready.

Tarot is a tool that I can help anyone, and I'm so excited to be offering this foundations course to help you get started!

I've been reading for over ten years, and have over twenty years of teaching experience under my belt. I view tarot as a deck of cards that illustrates the human experience. And while I do believe you need the basics, understanding the stories in the cards is the best way to connect with them.

That's why both So, you just got your first tarot deck and The Tarot Lab are filled with exercises, and activities to get you thinking and connecting your own dots.

Tarot can be deep, meaningful and profound, but it can also be extremely fun by helping you see possibilities, igniting creativity, and get silly from time to time.

Most importantly, I'm here to help you on your tarot journey - in whatever way I can.

FAQs

Q: How long will the course take?

The course is designed to be "binge-able" and digestible! You can easily go through the core videos in a single afternoon and be ready to read on day one, although you may want to take extra time to really dive into the exercises. There are two hours of video content along with exercises, questions and additional resources.

Q: What is the format of the course?

It's a bite-sized, video-based course. Each module includes a short video, written content, and practical exercises so you can learn at your own pace without feeling overwhelmed.

Q: How long do I have access to the course?

You get lifetime access (lifetime as in as long as The Tarot Lab and Adrienne Amari are a thing, which I hope is forever). Once you purchase, the videos, cheat sheets, and exercises are yours to keep and revisit whenever you need a refresher. All .PDFs can be downloaded.

Q: Do I need to own a specific tarot deck to take this course?

Nope! The "Anatomy of the Deck" and "Tarot Card Formula" modules are designed to teach you the foundations of tarot universally, so you can use whatever deck you just bought or already own. But I do recommend having a physical deck to use as you go through the course - you'll get SO much more out of it that way!

I use the traditional Rider Waite Smith in the course (mostly because I have them in a jumbo version, and it's great for videos, but also hilariously oversized).

Q: I already know a bit about tarot. Is this course too basic for me?

While it’s perfect for total beginners, it's also great if you've struggled with memorization in the past. As Julie mentioned in her review, this course is excellent for anyone looking to make their practice more intuitive, connected to themselves, and free from rigid "rules."

Q: Do I really not have to memorize all 78 cards?

Correct! We skip the 300-page guidebooks. You will learn "The Tarot Card Formula" to easily break down the 56 Minor Arcana without memorizing them individually, and you’ll get a handy Tarot Card Cheat Sheet with keywords to use as a jumping-off point. The questions in the modules help you connect the cards to your own life - and you know your life!

Q: What are Tarot Lab "Office Hours" and how do I join?

Tarot Lab Office Hours take place twice a month for members of the Tarot Lab, and with the purchase of the course you get one session included! It’s a space where you can ask me questions directly, get feedback on your readings, and practice alongside other students. The link to sign up is inside the course.

Q: Can I pay in my local currency?

The course is priced at a one-time fee of $47 CAD. Depending on your bank or credit card, this will automatically convert to your local currency at checkout (approximately $33 USD or €30 Euros).

Q: If I join the Tarot Lab later, do I lose the money I spent here?

Nope! Your $47 investment gets credited toward your Tarot Lab membership if you decide to join, so trying Foundations first never costs you extra down the line.
